5-Day Devotional: Confirmation of God's Call
Day 1: Who Am I That You Would Send Me?
**Reading:** Exodus 3:11-14
**Devotional:**
Moses stood before the burning bush, overwhelmed by inadequacy. "Who am I?" he asked. Perhaps you've felt the same way when God has called you to something beyond your capacity. Notice God's response: He didn't list Moses' qualifications. Instead, He declared, "I will certainly be with you." The confirmation of your calling isn't found in your resume but in God's presence. When God calls you, He's not asking if you're capable—He's declaring that He is. The great "I AM" sends you, and that's the only credential you need. Today, stop focusing on who you are and start focusing on who is sending you. His presence is your qualification.
Day 2: The Sign of Obedience
**Reading:** Judges 6:17-23
**Devotional:**
Gideon was hiding, threshing wheat in a winepress, when God called him a "mighty warrior." The disconnect between his reality and God's vision was so great that Gideon needed a sign. God graciously provided one—consuming his offering with fire. Sometimes we need tangible confirmation that God is truly speaking. There's no shame in asking for assurance when we're stepping into the unknown. What's beautiful here is that Gideon didn't use his need for confirmation as an excuse to delay obedience. He prepared his offering while he waited. Are you preparing for what God has called you to, even while you wait for confirmation? Faith prepares. Fear procrastinates.
Day 3: Prepared for the Next Step
**Reading:** Acts 9:8-12
**Devotional:**
Saul sat in darkness for three days, waiting. God had gotten his attention on the Damascus road, but the next step required patience. Meanwhile, God was preparing Ananias to be part of Saul's story. God's confirmation often comes through others He has prepared to meet us exactly where we are. Saul had already been given a vision of Ananias coming—God left nothing to chance. When you're waiting in your own darkness, uncertain of the next step, remember that God is orchestrating details you cannot see. He's preparing people, circumstances, and timing. Your job is to wait with expectation, knowing that God doesn't leave His calling incomplete. The next step is coming.
Day 4: Equipped for the Impossible
**Reading:** Exodus 4:1-8
**Devotional:**
"What if they won't believe me?" Moses asked. It's a legitimate fear when God calls us to something significant. Notice God's response: He didn't give Moses a motivational speech. He gave him signs—a rod that became a serpent, a hand that turned leprous then healed. God confirmed His anointing with power. You may feel inadequate for what God has called you to do, but He doesn't send you empty-handed. The same God who equipped Moses equips you. What's in your hand? What ordinary thing has God placed in your life that He wants to transform into something miraculous? God's anointing often begins with what you already have. Surrender it to Him.
Day 5: Faith to Keep Moving Forward
**Reading:** Judges 6:36-40
**Devotional:**
Gideon had already destroyed Baal's altar. He'd already blown the trumpet rallying the troops. Yet he still asked for confirmation with the fleece. This wasn't doubt—it was faith seeking assurance to keep moving forward. God graciously answered, twice. There's a difference between testing God out of unbelief and seeking confirmation to strengthen faith for the journey ahead. Gideon wanted to know God was truly with him because the cost of obedience was high. God met him there. If you've already taken steps of obedience but need reassurance to continue, don't be afraid to ask. God is patient with our process. He wants us confident in His presence, not paralyzed by fear. Keep moving forward—He goes with you.
